Piercing Aftercare Instructions
Thank you for trusting us with your piercing.

Proper aftercare is essential for healthy healing and long-lasting results.
Please read these instructions carefully and follow them throughout the entire healing process.
Cleaning Instructions

• Always wash your hands thoroughly before touching or cleaning your piercing.
• Clean the piercing 2 times per day using a sterile saline solution.
• Apply saline directly to the piercing or with clean, non-woven gauze.
• If recommended by your piercer, gently clean around the area with a mild, fragrance-free soap, then rinse thoroughly.
• Do not rotate or twist the jewelry during healing.
• Gently dry the area using clean, disposable paper towels.
(Cloth towels can harbor bacteria and snag jewelry.)
What Is Normal During Healing
• Mild swelling, redness, tenderness, or warmth
• Light bleeding during the first few days
• Clear or whitish fluid that may dry and form light crusties
• Itching or tightness as the tissue heals
A piercing may look healed on the outside before it is fully healed inside.
Healing happens from the outside in — patience is essential.
What To Do
• Leave the jewelry in place at all times during healing
• Maintain good hygiene and a healthy lifestyle
• Stay hydrated, eat well, and get enough sleep
• Wear clean, breathable clothing that does not put pressure on the piercing
• Showers are safer than baths
• If bathing, clean the tub beforehand and rinse the piercing afterward
What To Avoid
• Touching the piercing with unwashed hands
• Rotating or moving jewelry unnecessarily
• Over-cleaning (this can delay healing)
• Alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, Betadine®, Hibiclens®, or harsh soaps
• Ointments or heavy creams (they block air circulation)
• Bactine®, ear-care solutions, or products containing Benzalkonium Chloride (BZK)
• Excessive friction, pressure, or trauma
• Sleeping directly on fresh piercings
• Submerging the piercing in pools, lakes, hot tubs, or oceans during healing
• Makeup, lotions, sprays, or beauty products on or near the piercing
• Hanging charms or additional jewelry until fully healed
Jewelry & Healing
• Leave the original jewelry in place for the entire healing period
• Even healed piercings can close quickly if jewelry is removed
• If jewelry must be removed for medical reasons, contact us for guidance
• Check threaded jewelry regularly for tightness using clean hands
• Do not remove jewelry if infection is suspected — contact a professional
