Plain clean water (bottled or filtered preferred)

Alcohol-free dry-mouth oral rinse if needed
Do NOT use:

HOW TO CLEAN YOUR ORAL PIERCING

Wash your hands thoroughly before touching your piercing
-
Rinse your mouth after every meal, snack, smoking, or vaping
-
Brush teeth gently twice a day using a new soft-bristled toothbrush
-
Floss daily
-
Avoid overusing mouth rinse, as it can irritate healing tissue
For external areas:
-
Clean twice daily with sterile saline
-
Gently remove buildup with clean non-woven gauze
-
Pat dry with disposable paper towels

-
Swelling, tenderness, or warmth during the first 3–5 days
-
Light bleeding or bruising
-
Clear or whitish fluid that may dry and form light crusting

Oral piercings heal from the outside in.

Even if the piercing looks healed, the inside may still be fragile.
For lip piercings, it is normal for the jewelry to slightly “nest” inside the lip once healed.

Let small ice chips dissolve in the mouth
-
Sleep with your head elevated for the first few nights
-
Limit talking and unnecessary mouth movement
